Welcome to Shere Khan Sailing
Thank you for taking the time to visit our web site. Just the fact that you even
got here merits some kind of award, in our opinion! We will now attempt to keep
you utterly spell-bound for a few more minutes!
Shere Khan
Shere Khan is our 52 foot Irwin center-cockpit ketch. She was built in
Florida in 1984 and served her original owners quite nicely for many years,
cruising throughout Mexico, Central America and the western Caribbean. We have
kept in contact with them over the last several years since Anne and I purchased
her, and they always keep us amused and enthralled with their stories and
anecdotes of their past adventures.
Anyway, we’ll try to get to the point of all of this. Our main intent was, and
still is, to take a two year sailing hiatus from the daily grind that is Los
Angeles (this should be self explanatory!) and, quite frankly, contemplate "Life
- Part Two". Our youngest daughter thought that she should get a couple of years
of high school under her belt first before casting off to the tropics and
unknown waters, which was just fine, as it now has presented us with a golden
opportunity to try something completely different, career-wise. And that is…
...to now offer the opportunity for other like-minded people a chance to
experience a cruising adventure in the Sea of Cortez that is unlike any other.
Shere Khan is now available for charter in La Paz, Baja California Sur.
Richard will be your captain, crew and cook as we explore the fantastic area in
and around La Paz, with its several nearby islands and miles of beautiful
beaches that embrace the coves and offer scenery unlike anywhere else in the
Northern Hemisphere. These cruising excursions, from 3 days to 6 days-(or even
longer, if so desired), should answer all of your questions about what it feels
like to sail in exotic locations on a well-found yacht. And, hopefully, to give
you one less excuse not to put off your own sailing adventure on your very own
boat in the future.
Have we managed to pique your curiosity yet? Very good! Now welcome aboard Shere
Khan……….
